Spring Clean 2026

Spring Clean Working Party

It was a beautiful spring morning on Saturday 25th April when 16 members came together for this year’s spring clean working party. Starting from 9:30am, everyone gathered at the club to prepare the grounds for the season ahead.

Leaves and debris that had built up over time were cleared from behind the clubhouse, the car park, and the area out front near the road. The decking and paths were also swept. Court 5 was hand-brushed and topped up with additional clay, while many of the bushes around the grounds were carefully pruned. The under-clubhouse storage area was also cleared out, removing unwanted items that had accumulated over the years.

Work also began on the clubhouse balcony, with the surface sanded down in preparation for re-treatment later in the week.

After two and a half hours of hard work, the team took a well-earned break to enjoy pizza, salad, and refreshments together.

A huge amount was accomplished in just one morning, and a big thank you goes to everyone who took part. It’s amazing what can be achieved when we all pull together.

Courts 1–4 have just had a full power brushing—an essential one-day maintenance process to keep the surface consistent, safe, and playing at its best

First step: the power brush gets to work, lifting and breaking up the compacted infill deep within the surface.

At this stage, things look a bit rough—lines of exposed matting and piles of infill—but it’s all part of the process.

Next step: levelling things out

A specialist levelling attachment is fitted to the tractor, redistributing the infill evenly across the surface and restoring a smooth, consistent finish.

The courts will continue to settle over the next week—but they’re open and ready for play now

This work helps maintain consistent playing characteristics and extends the life of the surface.

New Artificial Clay Courts

New Artificial Clay Courts

The resurfacing of courts 1-4 is now complete and we have 4 brand new artificial clay courts in addition to our existing artificial clay court.

Artificial Clay is an excellent surface for UK weather conditions with many top clubs now using the surface. They remain playable in more weather conditions, holding up well in wet and frosty weather, as long as you're willing to go out and play in the cold or wet.

It's great fun to play on and slide if you so choose. It is also excellent surface to learn on, making it a massive plus for our coaching program. This is a great development for the club and alongside our high quality LED floodlight and beautiful clubhouse this gives us a standout facility in the area for outdoor tennis.

Court Resurfacing to Artificial Clay

Exciting news on our court resurfacing, we now have provisional dates for the work to take place to resurface courts 1-4 with artificial clay.

Work is currently scheduled to start the week beginning 26th February and take approximately 3 weeks. This work is weather dependent and so the dates may change slightly, it may be finished early or could overrun.

Artificial Clay is an excellent surface for UK weather conditions with many top clubs now using the surface. They remain playable in more weather conditions, holding up well in wet and frosty weather, as long as you’re willing to go out and play in the cold or wet. The surface is considered a performance surface. It’s great fun to play on and slide if you so choose. It is also excellent surface to learn on, making it a masses plus for our coaching program. This will be a great development for the club and alongside our high quality LED floodlight and beautiful clubhouse this gives us a standout facility in the area for outdoor tennis.
